The Nigerian Immigration Service on Monday opened its portal for the 2023 recruitment for interested applicants across the country.

Recruitment is open to applicants who wish to apply for the Civil Protection, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.

1. Application start and end dates

The application in the NIS started on Monday, January 16, 2023 and will end after two weeks, that is, on January 30, 2023.

2. Method of application

All NIS applications will be made online. And the candidates are expected to login to the portal to complete and submit the application form. Candidates are encouraged to print the Referee forms, which must be duly completed for submission during Selection.

3. Available positions and their qualifications

Category A: Superintendent Cadre:

Yo. Immigration Superintendent (SI) Compass 11 Professional (Medical): Applicants must possess a first degree in MBBS from a recognized institution of higher learning and a certificate of waiver/discharge from NYSC.

ii. Assistant Superintendent for Immigration (DSI) CONPASS 10 Professional (Pharmacists): Applicants must possess a first degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution of higher learning and a certificate of waiver/discharge from NYSC.

iii. Assistant Superintendent of Migration II (ASI) CONPASS 08: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Category B: Inspection box:

Yo. Migration Inspector Assistant (All) General Service CONPASS 06; Applicants must be holders of a National Diploma, NCE or Advanced NABTEB obtained from recognized institutions.

Category C: Auxiliary panel:

Yo. Immigration Assistant; (IA I11) CONPASS 03 General Duty: Applicants must be holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, GCE or its equivalent with a minimum of 4 credits in no more than two (2) sessions, which must include English and Mathematics.

ii. Immigration Assistant III (IA III CONPASS 03 Artisans: a) Motorist b) Mechanic: Those interested must be holders of ordinary level SSCE or its equivalent and corresponding proof of trade certificate.

3. Nationality of applicants

The NIS said all applicants must be Nigerian by birth.

4. Documents required for the application

i. National Identity Number

ii. Electronic copy of certificates and qualifications required in the application section.

iii. Medical aptitude certificates from government-recognized hospitals.

5. Test for drugs or other substances

All applicants must take a drug test to be qualified for the draft.

6. Financial stability

Although the NIS did not indicate an amount for its financial statement, it said none of its applicants should be “financially embarrassed.”

7. Age limits

All applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, with the exception of doctors and pharmacists who must not be older than 35.

8. Computer literacy

Although this is not required, but the NIS has considered it an added advantage for the applicants.

9. Chest measurement

Applicants’ chest measurement only applies to males and must not be less than 0.87.

10. Failure to present the certificate

NIS said that any certificates or qualifications not declared and accepted during documentation will not be accepted after recruitment.

11. Disqualification

NIS said that candidates with multiple applications will be disqualified.

12. Exam mode

The recruitment exam mode will be a computer-based test for shortlisted candidates and the appropriate time and date will be communicated.
