African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu called on Saturday for Nigerians to decide wisely in their choices during the 2023 election.
According to him, although 2022 was a particularly bad year for most Nigerians due to systemic failures in governance, security and the economy, “we should not be discouraged as 2023 presents an opportunity to start anew.”
Kachikwu stated this in his New Year’s message titled ‘2023, The Year of Decisions’.
He said: “Hello everyone, today as our nation’s Nigerians gather with family and friends, I want to wish everyone a happy and blessed New Year.
“This is also a time to not only celebrate the opportunity to start over, but also a season to reflect on what the past year has been like.
“2022 was a particularly bad year for most Nigerians who witnessed systemic failures in governance, security and the economy, but we must not be discouraged as 2023 presents an opportunity to start anew.
“Our failures and missteps must not rob us of the chance to hope and dream again. As we count our costs, we must remain grateful that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“Many look to the 2023 general election as the catalyst for a fresh start for our nation, but I say our deliberate choices as individuals in everything we do this year will be the catalyst for the change we want, not just in our nation but in all of us. our lives.
“The decisions we make at the polls are just as important as the decisions we make on a daily basis in all aspects of our lives. The decision to lose weight is just as important as the decision to fight for a better Nigeria.
“Our decisions this year should not only signal our own progress but also the progress of the nation. We must recommit to the higher ideals that unite us as one people under the green, white, green of our flag.
“Victimism and nationality are options, 2023 is the time to decide. May God guide us, protect us and grant us all the wisdom to make the right decisions. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless you all.”
