“I hereby confirm from the APC leader in the state, His Excellency Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, that the Kwara rally scheduled for 1/17/2023 will take place as scheduled.
“Please all arrangements underway to receive the presidential candidate and his running mate Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shetima and their entourage from now on be carried out accordingly.” Salma announced in a brief statement.
In addition, the Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Mr James Falekeconfirmed that the rally would go ahead as scheduled.
“I hereby confirm that the Kwara Rally scheduled for 17/1/23 will take place as scheduled. Please note accordingly,” Faleke stated in response to a query about the event.
However, the party had previously said in a statement signed by Saadu Salahu on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the APC Presidential Campaign Rally in Ilorin, announced the postponement of the event.
“This is to allow President Muhammadu Buhari to run the campaign.
“The president is scheduled for an international engagement outside the country this week starting tomorrow, but insists that he would like to personally lead the APC presidential rally in Kwara state.
“We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused our guests and all APC stakeholders.” the statement read in part.
