A member of the House of Representatives representing the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Hon. Shina Abiola Peller, has said that Nigeria urgently needs only leaders to deliver a functional system by 2023.
Peller, who is the Settlement candidate for the Oyo North Senatorial District for the 2023 election, made the disclosure on Sunday.
The lawmaker, in a statement signed by his media aide Kola Popoola and made available to the DAILY POST, advised Nigerians to elect only competent, patriotic and selfless leaders from all political parties.
He said that only competent, patriotic and selfless leaders can offer a working system for Nigeria to progress.
Peller, while speaking, expressed confidence that 2023 would be a year of progress for citizens.
He added that he believed the 2023 general election would be transparent and credible.
He further spoke while advising citizens to elect leaders who can empathize with the plight of the people.
He said: “The year 2023 presents a golden opportunity for our beloved nation. It will be a year of progress for Nigeria. Generations yet to be born will be told stories of historical events to come, but only if the current generation can make a bold statement.
“As we head to the polls in the coming months, it is our civic responsibility to make 2023 count by electing competent, patriotic, selfless, and innovative leaders in every political party who can deliver a functioning system, contributing their share to a better Nigeria.
“It is my greatest hope that we have transparent and credible polls that reflect the true desires of Nigerians.”
