Our correspondent deduced that the filicide attempt occurred on Monday, January 2, but the little girl was rescued by a neighbor due to the intervention of the police after a distress call.

A source said: “The woman could have killed the baby had it not been for the intervention of a neighbour, Musbau Azeez, before another Good Samaritan, Oluwaseyi Akingbenro, called the police.”

Akingbero had contacted a police division in the Lugbe area of ​​the FCT at around 10:30pm and informed them that Comfort had tried to kill her son, Michael, after she had thrown him to the ground, but Azeez rescued her

The suspect and the victim were later turned over to the police, who recovered a kitchen knife from the scene of the incident.

When contacted regarding the incident, FCT police public relations officer Josephine Adeh said police were investigating the incident.
