Oluwaseun Solanke, Director of Information Technology at Airtel Nigeria, became the Chairman of the Executive Leadership Council of CIO Club Africa.

The CIO Club Africa is a strategic platform for stakeholders in the digital transformation ecosystem for Africa, which aims to foster collaboration, networking and growth of the technology ecosystem in Africa.

Abiola Laseinde, CEO, Edniesal Consulting and CIO Club Convener declared Solanke the winner at the club’s induction ceremony held virtually, after leading with votes ahead of other opponents.

Commenting on the new position, Sholanke thanked club members for voting him in as president and vowed to ensure the organization’s growth.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for coming out and voting for us. It is an absolute pleasure to serve the organization. We continue to look forward to your involvement and support in the club and to achieving great things in the IT ecosystem ahead,” he said.

However, Solanke has worked in many Information Technology companies inside and outside the country, with many years of experience in the sector.

Prior to joining Airtel Nigeria in January 2019, the IT Officer worked with Ericson for two years as Senior Director and Head of BSS Solutions Area for Middle East Africa, Digital Sales Leader, Nigeria at Oracle, Technology Manager at information at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Houston. , Texas and Manager, West Africa Technology Services.

Other leadership positions elected to the council included the position of Secretary, Director of Programs and Events, Director of Strategy and Administration, Director of Advocacy, Marketing and Organizational Communications, Director of Learning and Development, and Director of Programs and Events.

Meanwhile, CIO Club Africa launched at the inaugural CIO Awards in 2020 as a community for stakeholders in the digital transformation ecosystem for Africa.
