Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Tuesday reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of state workers.

Akeredolu, speaking at the 2023 Public Servants’ Prayer in Akure, said that no administration would succeed without the cooperation of workers.

Therefore, he promised to prioritize the welfare of workers in the state.

The governor emphasized that his vision for the state was a better tomorrow, regardless of religious and political affiliations.

He urged workers to flee from politics and show full commitment to duties.

Akeredolu also ordered state officials to wear traditional attire in their respective offices on Fridays from now on.

In his speech, the Head of State Service, Kayode Ogundele, said that 2022 was an eventful year in the annals of state public service, as the government prioritized the welfare of workers.

He said: “Regular promotion with economic benefit as approved for public servants in the proper manner and at the right time.

“Only in 2022, a total of 8,415 public servants throughout the state were promoted with economic benefits.

“All the workers here will agree with me that paying half wages has become a thing of the past.”
