APC members defected in large numbers on Monday during the PDP’s ongoing campaign rally in the Tarka local government area of ​​the state.

The leader of the decampees, Hon Dennis Tser, also a close relative of Senator Akume, said they were leaving the APC because they were tired of being on an unrewarding side of the political divide where only the leader and his inner family circle they benefit and are fed while all the other people continue to suffer.

Mr. Tser pointed to recent events in which the party leader nominated his wife as the candidate for the APC House of Representatives for the Gboko/Tarka federal constituency, and also one of Tarka’s three national delegates to the Presidential Convention of the APC in Abuja late last year.

The decampers said that they therefore decided to leave APC to seek a better political life and experience in the PDP.

Speaking during the rally, Benue State Board of Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) Chairwoman Ms Mimi Orubibi skinned the high cost of living under the current administration under the leadership of APC saying they have done more damage Good for Nigerians.

She said that the continuous increase in the cost of goods, petroleum products and other basic services such as energy has brought many difficulties to the people.

The Benue tax chief urged the people of Benue to massively vote for the PDP as it is the only political party that cares about the plight of the people.

Governor Samuel Ortom, addressing the Tarka people, stated that Nigeria is gradually abandoning the policy of intimidation and theft of ballot boxes.

He urged the people of Tarka to come out en masse and vote wisely by voting for the PDP candidates in the upcoming elections.

Also speaking, Senators representing the Benue North West Senatorial District and Benue North East Senatorial District, Senator Orker Kev and Senator Gabriel Suswam, advised the people of Tarka to vote en masse for all PDP candidates in the coming elections for political freedom and the development of the state.

PDP gubernatorial candidate Mr. Titus Uba praised the people of Tarka for their prayers while he was ill and urged them to vote for him in the upcoming elections for a better Benue.
