A 15-year-old girl (name withheld) has been allegedly raped by a member of the anti-cult group in Issele-Azagba, North Aniocha Local Government Area of ​​Delta State, Mr. Tony Ukwamedua.

The victim’s father, Johnbest Okolie, said that after the daughter told him what happened, he now left angrily to track Tony down to the house.

“The rapist who has no remorse dared to chase me with a gun. Thank God for my two children who also came with me. They held him down, picked up the weapon and he escaped beaten.

“I took the weapon to our palace and handed it over to the Obi of Issele-Azagba. Early that morning, not knowing what to do, I was told to take my daughter to a private clinic for treatment.

“They gave him an injection, a drip and some drugs. But all that day and the next morning, she was still bleeding before someone told me to take her to the Asaba Specialist Hospital, where the government handles sexual assault cases.

“I thank God we came here; since morning, it has been a medical examination and the other. We receive the best of cooperations. The people from the Children’s Rights Committee assured me that the government will take care of everything related to their tests and comprehensive treatment.

“I want this animal of human nature to pay for what it did to my innocent daughter. I have not anybody; I’m just a poor farmer struggling to take care of his children. I need justice for this little boy. Tony just destroyed his life,” he said.

In a telephone conversation, the Chairperson of the Delta State Child Rights Implementation Committee, Ms. Kevwe Agas, confirmed the incident, adding that appropriate medical, legal and security documentation would be prepared to prosecute the case.

He stated that justice must definitely be done to deter irresponsible men who take advantage of the girl’s vulnerability to desecrate or rape her.
