The immediate former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, urged Nigerians to approach the New Year and the 2023 elections with renewed hope and faith.
The State Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, while congratulating the citizens of Osun and Nigerians on the occasion of the New Year celebration, also called for prayers, more sacrifice and commitment for the success of the General Election of 2023.
Oyetola, in a statement from his press assistant, Ismail Omipidan, noted that the call was made necessary because the current democratic administration is the longest in the country’s checkered political history and, as such, all hands must be ready to support it. and deepen it.
He added that the country has had 24 uninterrupted democratic experiences due to the determination, commitment and sacrifice of Nigerians.
“2023 presents us with another opportunity to maintain our democratic credentials, after having enjoyed an unprecedented 24 years of uninterrupted democratic experience. Therefore, we must approach it with renewed hope and faith.
“I have absolute confidence in the ability of our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, to build on the achievements of the administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari and, in doing so, achieve economic growth. accelerated. and development for Nigerians.
“As for the citizens of Osun, God will never abandon us as we celebrate this new year. God’s promise will be fulfilled in Osun. The sun will shine again, stronger and warmer, and the sustainable development and participatory governance that we enthroned in our first term, which were applauded by local and international bodies, will be restored and placed on better and more secure foundations.
