Sola Fasure, the media adviser to Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola, described an article circulating on social media, alleging that its director attacked the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as fake news.

Fasure, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday, also raised the alarm about attempts by some unidentified people to thwart reconciliation efforts aimed at mobilizing support for the APC’s success in the presidential election.

He added that the former Osun governor remained committed to delivering key reforms to the Interior Ministry and its agencies and the party’s victory in general elections.

The statement read in part: “The media office of the Minister of the Interior has drawn attention to social media news attributing false statements to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in connection with an attack on the person of our party’s presidential candidate, All Progressives. Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is fake news and it’s simply not true.

“Clearly a pattern has emerged of a sinister and coordinated effort to thwart reconciliation moves championed by notable stakeholders inside and outside our party to assemble all the factors necessary for our party’s success in the February 2023 presidential election.

“Just last week, the nervous politicians who are the authors of this malicious manuscript paid a handful of crowd-hire comedians to react to a non-existent ‘attack’ and regurgitate the plot again, intent on thwarting a series. of reconciliations. steps for their selfish interest.”

Fasure further urged citizens to beware of what he described as the “evil machinations” of those behind the movements, who sought to cause disaffection, distraction and sow discord within the APC.
