The fifteenth player in the world, Quadri had mixed results in 2022 and expects to have a very good year in 2023.

The contender will play from January 10-15 at the Olive Convention Center in Durban, South Africa, with top-tier players set to storm the African country.

28 players from around the world, 16 men and 12 women, will compete for the honors in Durban.

Nigerian star Aruna Quadri and Egyptian Dina Meshref will lead the African contingent in the contender.

The fifteenth player in the world, Quadri had mixed results in 2022 and expects to have a very good year in 2023.

Quadri has confirmed his transfer from Bundesliga TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell to Russian champions Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg for the remaining part of the 2022/2023 season.

The African champion spent two seasons with the German team, leading the team to the German Cup semi-final and Bundesliga play-off last season.

His new club, Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg, have won the ETTU Champions League three times with several records set in the Russian league.

Quadri said he loves new challenges and is ready to help his new club remain the best in the league.

He said: “The Russian club contacted me in October 2022 and they had to write to the Fulda management to express their intention to have me in their fold. They did that and paid the transfer fee necessary for me to join them this January. But he was also committed to helping Fulda out of the relegation zone in the Bundesliga, which we were able to do in our last league game last season to take 12th place in the 16-team league.

“I love new challenges and I think playing in the Russian league is another challenge for me after having played in the Portuguese, French and German leagues since turning professional. I am sure that I will improve my game more and I am also ready to help the club to stay at the top of the Russian league this season.”
