Bagudu affirms its commitment to fund Western Islamic education – The Sun Nigeria

The Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to adequate funding for both Western and Islamic education.

The Chairman of the APC Governors Forum made this point in Birnin Kebbi at the close of a two-day national preaching session organized by Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a Wa Iqamatus-Sunnah (JIBWIS).

According to the Governor, it was the constitutional responsibility of all three levels of government to provide the electorate with the much-needed dividends of democracy.

Bagudu said that the provision of quality Western and Islamic education, as well as the promotion of the religion of Islam, were some of these responsibilities.

Bagudu stated that APC, President Muhammadu Buhari and himself hold JIBWIS, the Ulama Council and other religious groups in the country in high regard.

The governor added that this was the reason why the state government instantly donated N15 million to ensure the success of the Izala special preaching session holding.

It revealed that the state government was integrating Western and Islamic education in 3,543 Islamiyya schools, with no less than 15,401 registered facilitators.

Bagudu said the Kebbi state government was honored to have been given the right to host the national preaching session.

He praised the leadership of JIBWIS and other religious groups for their fervent sustained prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity and socio-economic prosperity.

In the end, the Governor sent the request to the Nigerian Deaf Muslim Association for their inclusion in the movement’s activities and the use of interpreters during the preaching session of the Izala movement.

Jamaatu Izalatu Bidiah Waikamatus Sunnah, JIBWIS National Chairman Shiek Abdullahi Bala Lau thanked all Muslims inside and outside Nigeria for attending the two-day national preaching session held at Birnin Kebbi this Sunday.

He appealed to the participants and the Muslim Ummah who had the opportunity to listen to the various preachings delivered by Islamic scholars to absorb and put into practice what they have learned in the sermon.

He stated: “Let the Qur’an be our guiding principle and the way forward as our salvation.”

The Islamic scholar also called on politicians and their supporters not to engage in bitter politics and hateful politics towards each other, but instead pray for the maintenance of peace, unity and security in Nigeria.

Nigeria is now pregnant, we pray for a safe Nigerian delivery. Allah has already selected the next president of Nigeria and all the leaders at various levels, what remains is just an announcement,’ he said.

The Islamic cleric lamented the high level of drug use among youth which he said was detrimental to social development and contrary to Islam.

Lau expressed his deep appreciation to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his continued support of Da’awah programs in Kebbi State, as well as his moral and financial support for JIBWIS, in particular for the recently concluded national preaching session organized by Kebbi’s state that ended this Sunday.

Earlier, Islamic scholars like Shiek Abubakar Giro Argungu, Shiek Kabiru Gombe, Shiek Malan Aliyu Adarawa, Shiek Professor Abdullahi Sale Pakistan Kano, Sheikh Ahmed Koko, among others, delivered a sermon at the two-day national preaching session at Birnin Kebbi.
