The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue state has described the seven-plus year leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as characterized by Nigerian community misrule and mismanagement on a scale of genocidal proportions.

This is even as party spokesperson Bemgba Iortyom in a congratulatory statement to Benue People in the new year stated that “we also stand in solidarity with all the victims of the national catastrophe called APC misrule, which ranks as the biggest disaster that has occurred in Nigeria since independence, with an impact far more adverse than even civil war.

He said: “Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State salutes the people of the state on the occasion of the New Year 2023, our great party also reaffirms confidence in their leadership under Governor Samuel Ortom, and their position on issues at both the national and local level of politics”.

The party hailed the ‘Benue Spirit’ which has endured and thrived in the most challenging circumstances and has particular empathy for the victims of APC misrule and mismanagement of the Nigerian community on a scale of genocidal proportions.

According to him, “In Benue State, victims who have been driven from their homes by hordes of murderous terrorists and land grabbers to be abandoned in IDP camps, destitute and unable to pay for the basic necessities of life such as food , clothing, shelter, medicare, education by a cabal that rules in Aso Rock that has visited a scorched earth agenda on the economy through unprecedented corruption.

“It is in light of this that our great party, under the leadership of Governor Ortom, urges people to be vigilant so as not to repeat the 2015 miscalculation that gave power to the undeserving at the national level.”
