Jim Ratcliffe, a British business magnate, has made a formal offer to buy Premier League club Manchester United.

The club’s current owners, the Glazers, have stated that they are willing to sell the business as a result of repeated fan protests and other issues.

Since 2005, the family owns the majority of the club’s shares.

According to Sky Sports, Ratcliffe’s chemical company INEOS has made its formal offer for the club.

Ratcliffe also set up a Chelsea bid when Roman Abramovich was handed a penalty.

With 38 points after 18 games, United is fourth in the Premier League.
