President Muhammadu Buhari urged the Adamawa state electorate to vote for All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima as president and vice president in the upcoming elections, as well as for all the party’s candidates for the Senate. Seats of the House of Representatives and the House of Assembly.

The president spoke at the APC presidential and gubernatorial campaigns in Adamawa state yesterday.

He said: “I am delighted to be here today in Yola, Adamawa State, to be part of the campaign of our candidates for different offices in the country, from the presidency to the government, national and state assemblies. It is the Congress of All Progressives (APC) from top to bottom.

“APC for President! APC for Governor! APC for the Senate! APC for the House of Representatives! APC for the assembly members!”, said the president.

Buhari said that APC had a vision to make Adamawa State more peaceful, progressive and prosperous.

“Their contributions in the state of Adamawa to our national development can be attested by their production in agriculture, fishing, livestock, industry, manufacturing, commerce, mining, among others.

“Their achievements in the areas of education have made us proud and have given us immense joy and satisfaction. The Adamawa people are progressive by nature, and it’s time to prove it once again.

“Our vision of Adamawa as a peaceful, progressive and prosperous state is strong and enduring. With its perseverance and determination, APC will make Adamawa a model state in all areas of work,” he stated.

Buhari called on voters to avoid sentiment and make history by electing the country’s first female governor in 2023, Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed-Binani, saying her record of dedication to duty and service would improve the livelihood of citizens.

He told voters that Binani had consistently worked for the welfare of the state and indigenous people for many years, and entrusting her with the Governor’s Office would further strengthen her to reposition the state for greatness.

“Let me remind you of the good fortune that awaits your State in 2023 after the APC returns to power at the federal level and elects the party’s nominee as its incoming Governor.

“You have been given the opportunity to set a record in Nigerian history and in the annals of democracy and politics in our country by electing the first female chief executive of a state in Nigeria. She can’t let such an important opportunity slip through her fingers.

“Therefore, I call on all the men, women and youth of Adamawa State, the northeast, and indeed the entire country, to support the candidacy of Senator Aisha Binani and ensure her victory in March 2023,” he said.

Binani pleaded with First Lady Aisha Buhari, APC stalwart Nuhu Ribadu and House Member Abdulrazak Namdas to join her in ensuring success at the polls and taking the state to greater heights.
