lakes – Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, mocked his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Tinubu, in Lagos.

The former vice president was in the state to present his economic plans to the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), where he called on Nigerians not to vote for the former state governor in the 2023 presidential election, Leadership reported.

Why does Atiku attack Tinubu in Lagos?

Atiku landed in Lagos on Sunday, January 15, shortly after his visit to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), where he commiserated with PDP members injured in a deadly accident in Plateau state.

According to Atiku, Tinubu was part of those who brought Nigeria to the state it is today.

He said:

“A rookie or the national leader of the same party that brought us into this most unfortunate situation.”

The PDP presidential candidate urged Nigerians not to downplay the task ahead, adding that he is the only candidate with the know-how to rescue the country.

Atiku boasted that he was instrumental in reviving the private sector by devising a strategy and advocating for opening up the economy for private investment to enter many sectors when he was Vice President of Nigeria.

Obiora Okonkwo, president of the council in Anambra, predicted Atiku’s victory in the state and the entire southeast region.

Anambra is the home state of Peter Obi, one of the leading presidential candidates in the 2023 elections and is a state governed by APGA, the third largest political party in Nigeria.
