Chuba Akpom is back in goal after shooting blanks in his last four games for Middlesbrough.

The striker hit the mark as Boro beat Watford 2-0 on Saturday to move to third in the Championship.

He scored the opening goal in the 36th minute after some good work from debutant Cameron Archer.

In the Championship, Chuba Akpom has scored his 14th goal (15th of the season) to keep Middlesbrough in the promotion race.

The victory meant nine wins from 13 league games for Carrick, who took over the manager’s job in October after Boro slipped into the relegation places.

Meanwhile, the defeat leaves Watford in fourth place, one point behind Middlesbrough.
