A Nigeria-based Pentecostal church, The Apostolic Faith, on Thursday night awarded the sum of N2,650,000 to seven business owners.
The presentation of the grants was made by the church’s West and Central Africa District Superintendent, Isaac Adigun, during the closing event of the 2022 annual International Youth Camp, labeled “Ebenezer Night,” which was held in Ogun state.
PUNCH reports that the youth arm of the church had asked young entrepreneurs to submit business presentations with the aim of winning grants to support their businesses.
However, seven finalists were shortlisted.
In a mini statement posted on the organization’s Facebook page, the organization noted that second runner-up Moses Eno won the sum of N500,000 while first runner-up Mary Olalere won the sum of N750,000.
The winner, Salome Sunday, a baker from the Abuja branch of the church, came out on top and received the sum of N1m.
The church further stated, “Of the remaining seven contestants, we have the final three, with the remaining four people going home with N100,000 each.”
Competition winner Salome Sunday expressed her gratitude to the competition organizers, saying, “I am so grateful to God, the church and the YDD for this wonderful opportunity.”
