The Independent National Election Commission has said the return of Permanent Voter Cards to districts will begin on Friday.
This was announced in a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Voter Information and Education Committee, Festus Okoye, on Thursday.
The Commission noted that those who requested the replacement of lost, damaged or defaced PVCs could collect their PVCs from the Registration Area/rooms during this period.
According to the statement, the exercise will return to the Commission’s Local Government Offices on January 15.
INEC therefore urged validly registered voters who have not yet collected their PVCs to take the opportunity to return to districts to do so.
The statement read: “PVC collection return to districts begins tomorrow, January 6, 2023, and all validly registered voters who have not yet collected their PVC are encouraged to take advantage of the return to districts opportunity. to do it. After January 15, 2023, the exercise will return to the Commission’s local government offices through January 22, 2023. All eligible and valid applicants may pick up their PVCs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm every weekday. days, including Saturdays and Sundays.
“All those who applied for replacement of lost, damaged or defaced PVCs can collect their PVCs at the Registration Area/districts during this period and the same applies to those who registered before the 2019 General Election and have not yet collected your cards. .
“The PVCs of those who requested the transfer are available for collection in the Local Governments and Registration Areas where they intend to vote and not in the State or Local Government where they made the transfer.
“The Commission appreciates the patience and understanding of the Nigerians who flocked to our various local government offices to collect their PVCs. By making the cards available for collection, the Commission is also working to ensure that the process is simple and hassle-free for Nigerians.”
