Fans of music star Burna Boy lamented the singer’s late entry to his concert in Lagos on Sunday night.
Angry attendees took to Twitter to call out the singer for starting his performance late at the ‘Love Damini Concert’ themed event.
According to attendees, the show started at 9 p.m. and Burna Boy didn’t appear on stage until 3 a.m.
Entertainment commentator Joey Akan tweeted: “You stand in line for six hours to buy gas; You’re still on your feet six hours to Burna Boy. Hard life!”
Sharing a video of the event, @ade_adeayo tweeted: “The situation on the ground. Almost 2am and the Burna Boy concert basically hasn’t started yet.
“Some people have been around since 9pm. For an artist with the highest level of international exposure, this is terrible and unprofessional.”
Giving an update, the tweeter wrote: “The band is playing and Burna Boy appears on stage at 3:30.
“All is forgiven and the crowd cheers. No lesson learned. Good night guys and happy new year.
“And mind you, there was no apology. She even claimed that it was out of good will and Seyi Vibez begged her to decide to stay in place.
After his appearance, Burna Boy lashed out at fans who attended his show in Lagos on Sunday, while recounting how he was accused of killing someone at the club in August 2022.
The singer stated that he would have gone home if it hadn’t been for another artist, Seyi Vibes.
Speaking in pidgin English, he said, “If it’s not Seyi Vibes, I’m just not going home. But I’ll die here with one, after you don’t speak, I kill a person for Cubana, after one doesn’t speak, say that my mom dances for Fela”.
After warming up, the singer performed his hit songs for the waiting fans who cheered for him despite their earlier discontent.
