Nigerians I have called the Technical Director of the Nigerian Football Federation; Austin Eguaveon will persuade Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo to play for the Super Eagles after the former Eagles manager was in England to see the player, reports PUNCH Sports Extra.

The outcry followed Eguaveon’s Twitter post of a sighting at Selhurst Park; Crystal Palace Stadium, as the Eagles, who have two other Nigerians in their row, were beaten at home by Adarabioyo’s Fulham on Boxing Day.

“How I spent my Boxing Day: Crystal Palace vs Fulham. Thank you for the invitation @TosinAdarabioyo”, read Eguavoen’s tweet.

The responses below the tweet were of varying tones, with few charging at the English-born player for choosing the Super Eagles over the Three Lions.

“Come [email protected]Sin.” Said a MistrDez, just as @therealmawulolo labeled it “beautiful gesture”.

Another fan said: “We need him in the national team, Eguavoen, please make it happen.”

“I just forgive you, sir. he had been bitter. Get it now,” wrote Richard Bolaji.

Adarabioyo was born in Manchester to Nigerian parents and rose through the ranks at Manchester City Academy with loan spells to West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers before moving to Fulham on a permanent deal in October 2020.

He has played for England at Under-13 to Under-19 levels, but has not played for England’s youth teams since 2015, leading to speculation that he might be willing to play for Nigeria.

Adarabioyo, who had stated his desire to play for England earlier, has been an unused substitute for Fulham in their last four games with his last appearance being Premier League play for The Cottagers in October in their 3-2 win over leeds.

While it is known from a reliable source that Eguavoen is looking in Europe for a reliable central defender for the Eagles, the NFF technical director also ran the rules on the Crystal Palace duo of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, who are also eligible for represent the Eagles. despite their loyalties to France and England respectively.

“Talks are ongoing with him, but let’s wait and see. We have to wait before making any statement in the media,” a source who spoke on condition of anonymity told PUNCH Sports Extra.

Eguaveon also received a nudge to attract Eze, Olise, among other players abroad.

“Let’s go for him, Eze, Oliseh, Onomah, Adaramola, Ebiowei. Let’s go for everyone, “replied a certain Dez to the Eguaveon publication.
