Cremonese can still beat relegation – Okereke

David Okereke says the Cremonese cannot throw in the towel after another defeat against Inter Milan at the weekend.

The Nigerian insists the Cremonese can still get over the drop, but the players and coaches must stick together.

Okereke scored a great goal in the 11th minute, but Simeone Inzaghi’s men came from behind to win 2-1.

The loss means that Cremonese is yet to record a win after the matchday 20 game of the league.

“We know that we are a team that has to suffer compactly, and if it does, it can put anyone in trouble, but in the end the results don’t come,” Okereke reacted to the defeat.

“But we must believe in it to the end. Is there a risk of demoralizing us? Nerd.

“We are a good group, we know that there are difficult times, but working together we can achieve the results we want,” he told the club’s media.

The former Club Brugge striker also spoke about his wonderful goal.

“The goal? It was a great goal – said David Okereke at the end of Cremonese-Inter – but it didn’t bring any points and that’s why it hurts.

“I saw that I was free, I turned around and put the ball where I wanted,” he concluded.
