The Delta State Police Command has refuted claims that a Dr. Uyi Iluobe was killed by relatives of a patient, at his hospital in Oghara.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Iluobe was killed on December 31, 2022, and the Nigerian Medical Association claimed that the doctor was killed by the relatives of a deceased patient.

But in a statement on Tuesday, the head of Public Relations for the state command police, Bright Edafe, pointed out that the act was carried out by alleged cultists.

On its Twitter page, Edafe revealed that the NMA visited the state Police Commissioner, Ari Alli, regarding Iluobe’s mother.

He went on to reveal that the suspected cultists entered the hospital pretending to be patients and shot the doctor while he was tending to them.

Edafe therefore refuted claims that the doctor was killed by a relative of a dead patient.

The police spokesman said: “Nigeria Medical Association visits CP Delta over the murder of Dr. Uyi Iluobe by suspected cultists who entered the hospital in Oghara posing as patients and shot him while he was treating them.

$ He was not killed by the family of any dead patients as alleged, please.”
