Covenant University, Ogun State, has advised 2021/2022 graduates to be prepared to take responsibility so as not to become liabilities.

Speaking at the 17th Convocation, ‘Release Eagles by 2022’, the Institution’s Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, explained that responsibility was the price of greatness and said that everyone was responsible for the outcome of their life.

He added that gross irresponsibility had squandered destinies.

You can always tell what awaits a young man by his current position. Either you take responsibility or you become a liability. Life begins with a vision, finding direction for one’s life. You have located it now, how ready are you for it, anyone can know what tomorrow holds simply by doing or not doing. Be ready to take responsibility, otherwise you become a liability, everyone is responsible for the outcome of their life, no one sits forward, you work in the future and you are not a failure until you point an accusing finger at others. Commitment to one’s greatness is responsibility. Nothing keeps a man on his toes like his sense of responsibility.

Speaking on ‘The Power of Courage’, Pro-Chancellor Pastor David Abioye said: “Therefore, I urge all graduates, when they leave with their certificates, to carry courage as a necessary virtue to defy the status quo, face oppositions. , challenge the unmissable, set new records, create new records and break new ground.

“Every notable conqueror testifies to courage as the main weapon. In fact, the highest level of experience or the most sophisticated weapon of war has no effect without courage. ”

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abiodun Adebayo, said that a total of 206 students obtained First Class titles in the Call, while a total of 1,934 students graduated from the institution.

Adebayo said the institution was on an education rescue mission, adding that UC had decided to raise up a new generation of leaders who would restore the lost glory of the black race.

“In just two decades of its existence, Covenant University has become a leading world-class university and the best higher education destination for students in Africa.

“Furthermore, Covenant University emerged as the best university out of 111 private universities in Nigeria by Prestige Nigeria Education,” he said.
