Delta Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice-presidential candidate Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa has advised Nigerians not to despair in the face of the myriad of challenges besetting the nation, saying the Atiku-Okowa’s presidency would restore hope to the country. if he is chosen.

Okowa made the call at the PDP presidential campaign grand finale in Yola on Saturday.

He described Nigeria as a patient in a hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and claimed that PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was the only “competent consultant” to treat the “patient” (Nigeria) and remove him from danger.

Okowa therefore urged the Adamawa people and Nigerians to vote for the Atiku-Okowa ticket in the upcoming presidential election for a new and healthy Nigeria.

He thanked the people for their massive support for the party and assured that Atiku would change things forever if he came to power.

According to him, Nigerians should prepare their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) before next Saturday’s presidential elections and mobilize massively for the Atiku-Okowa ticket, voting overwhelmingly for the PDP.

“We really thank you for coming both to the streets and to this concentration camp to welcome your father, your son, your very own Wazirin Adamawa.

“We want to thank the Adamawa people for giving us a leader who understands Nigeria, a humble leader, a leader who is ready to lead Nigerians to the promised land by God’s special grace.

“So, we are very grateful to the people of Adamawa for giving Nigerians this wonderful man, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He is someone who understands Nigeria.

“A lot of people have talked about him, and we have heard a lot about him, but we know that Nigerians are suffering a lot, we know that Nigerians are worried in their hearts.

“We know that Nigerians are hungry, we know that students are worried about their education, and we know that employers, even small business owners, are worried that their businesses will collapse.

“We also know that many of our farmers are concerned about going to their farms due to insecurity and the fact that they cannot access fertilizers due to the high cost.

“Don’t worry, help is on the way and that help is Atiku Abubakar,” the governor said.

While reiterating the need for Nigerians to prepare their PVCs for the next general elections, he said “those of your towns, those of your towns, your fathers and your mothers, mobilize everyone and that Saturday, February 25, come out masked and cast their votes.

“You will have the assurance that your help has arrived and that your future is truly assured.”

He added that Atiku, from day one in office, would steer Nigeria in the right direction “and not the Nigeria we are talking about today because contemporary Nigeria is full of sorrows.”

Okowa, however, assured that the future would be good for the Nigerians under Atiku, noting that he was the only man in the race who had the ability to secure the future for the youngsters.

The vice presidential candidate implored Nigerians to beware of people lying to them and stressed that Atiku was the only man with the experience to lead the country at this critical time.

“I consider myself lucky to be your vice-presidential candidate because I know you are capable of delivering; I know he is someone I can learn from, but the other people who are competing want to use Nigeria to learn.

“We are not looking for apprentices, but experienced men with knowledge of Nigeria who can unite us and guide us towards the growth part.

“So please go out and talk to our people and let them know that help is on the way and that help is Atiku Abubakar,” he added.
