A leader of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in the Southwest Ovia Local Government Area of Edo State, Goodluck Adenomo, defected to the All Progressives Congress in the state along with his supporters.

Adenomo was received this Thursday at the administrative headquarters of the APC in the local government.

The former PDP chief reportedly said he defected to the APC to work on the re-election bid for lawmaker representing the federal Ovia constituency, Dennis Idahosa.

Adenowo praised the lawmaker, saying his performance surpassed others who had represented the constituency in the past.

Emphasizing the need to support Idahosa, he said, “It is for this reason that I and my many supporters have decided to put up a tent with the APC in support of Idahosa’s re-election.

“His tenure in office in the space of three years was an eye-opener for us in Ovia because we’ve had legislators before him who didn’t come close to what he had done.”

Ovia South West APC President Emma Ogbomo, who welcomed the defectors, praised Adenowo for his decision, saying she was happy he (Adenowo) was joining the party at this time.

“In fact, we are happy with their arrival and we want everyone to know that they will be given the same privileges and rights as former members,” he said.
