Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state has said the state was in debt to Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and would repay it with massive votes during next month’s elections. .
Oyebanji, speaking at the inauguration of the 143-member APC State Presidential Campaign Council in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, described the former Lagos state governor as the undisputed father of progressive politics in the country who should be well supported by the number of the nation. worked.
The governor, who was joined at the inauguration ceremony by immediate former state governor Kayode Fayemi, said Tinubu was a benefactor of the progressive family in Ekiti state, adding that his support for progressives in the early years of struggle was not quantifiable.
He described the APC presidential candidate as the most qualified among all the candidates vying for the presidential post in terms of competence, ability, courage, experience and sagacity.
“This time, we are looking for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Our Party, the All Progress Congress (APC) has put forward the best man for the job. We are no stranger to our party’s candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is the undisputed father of progressive politics in Nigeria.
“He ticks all the boxes for competence, courage, character, excellence, experience and sagacity. In terms of political acumen, he’s a living legend; and when it comes to skill and ability to rule, he is far ahead of his strongest rivals.
“Here in Ekiti, he was our benefactor in the progressive family. He was there for us politically in our childhood years. It is time for us to feed the leader who once took care of us. The duty is now ours to go from house to house, from shelter to shelter, and from place to place to ensure that our party and candidate win convincingly. Earlier in his remarks, former Ekiti State Governor and Council Co-Chairman Kayode Fayemi stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence and unity of purpose for successful elections, noting that Ekiti’s constituencies were enlightened and not could be taken for granted.
Fayemi urged all the candidates and council members not to stage their campaign in Abuja but to return to their districts and constituencies to push the campaign forward.
