He said he would recommend a younger person to the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate if he wanted her to work with him and stressed that they are still talking about this, the Nigerian Tribune report noted.

“I don’t think there is any government job that you can’t give to a younger person. Like I said, we’re still talking. The Nigerian passport is the only passport I have. Anything that I can do to make sure our country is better, I will make sure to do. But I will always say that I prefer stocks.”

He added that Bola Tinubu would involve youth in government for a leadership transition.

According to,

“It’s hard for someone in their 40s or 50s to convince Nigeria or the political class that they have the experience to run this complex country. I view the septuagenarians running for office now as transitional leaders.”

El-Rufai noted that his exposure under various presidents has given him the insight that a younger person would require the necessary exposure to run a complex Nigeria.
