According to him, it is intended to distract them from casting their votes on election dates.
tank alleged that the reality show was being sponsored by one of the main opposition parties, to distract young people from voting for their choice of candidate
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the TV show is set to air on January 15, just 40 days before the general election.
Tanko said:The essence of this press conference is to alert the ever vibrant young Nigerians to the hidden agenda behind the new reality show labeled: “The Titans”.
“We have credible information that it is being sponsored by a major opposition party to distract young Nigerians from changing leadership that has placed them in perilous times mired in abject poverty.” he said.
He stressed that the information made available to him revealed that the son of one of the presidential candidates in active collaboration with others visited South Africa to hatch this plan.
“As a party with the sole aim of turning our beloved country into a place where poverty, unemployment, ‘japa’ will be seen as taboo is being threatened by an opposition that passionately hates young Nigerians.
“Big Titan or whatever they call it, will distract young people from taking what belongs to them now.
“Big Brother Naija ended not long ago, why the ‘Titans’ now that we are facing important elections that will determine the future of Nigerian youth?“, I ask.
Tanko said that the reality show was now full of unforeseen dangers for young people because their attention would be divided.
“As a party, we are not against reality shows because they help Nigerian youth break the poverty line, but for now, for the common good of all, it should be moved to another convenient date.
“This should be after the general election has concluded.
“Those who put together a reality show as we count down the days to the general election are the enemies of young Nigerians and by extension all well-meaning Nigerians,” said Tanko.
He said the question Nigerians should ask the organizers was whether they were really friends of the political entity known as Nigeria or enemies of progress.
The LP-PCC spokesperson further said that the reality show was invented and designed by a major opposition political party and stressed that at the right time they would expose them to Nigerian youth.
