Kwara United continued their disastrous start to the NPFL season, losing 3-0 to Enyimba on Sunday.
Kwara United boss Azeez Mohammed made four changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Bendel Insurance last Wednesday, with goalkeeper Abdullateef Ishola starting for the first time this season.
Striker Owolabi Aremu made his Kwara United debut upfront, while Etagbara Bright and Mohammed Alao also had the chance to impress in the Harmony Boys colours.
Ezekiel Tamara fell to the bench despite his impressive performances in the last two games. Wasiu Mamoud and Paul Samson also sat on the bench.
Despite the changes, Kwara United’s resistance only lasted 11 minutes when Emeka Obioma put Enyimba ahead after a through ball from Sadiq Abubakar.
The 2-0 came seven minutes later, a dangerous cross from Emeka Obioma reached the path of Sadiq Abubakar who located Adebambo.
The former Kwara United striker wasted no time in lobbing the ball into the back of the net to punish his former team.
The visitors were forced to make an early substitution after Muri Dagbo suffered a serious injury and was replaced by Ezekiel Tamara.
Ayobami Junior should have reduced United’s deficit moments later, but he squandered the simple opportunity.
Emeka Obioma put the game past Kwara United by scoring their second match in the 68th minute.
The result means that manager Abdulazeez Mohammed is under pressure.
