A Colombian influencer, Mike Jambs, who had Lionel Messi’s name tattooed on his face after Argentina’s World Cup triumph, has regretted his actions.

The fan had the word ‘MESSI’ painted on his forehead and three stars on one of his cheeks for each of the World Cups Argentina won, Daily Mail reported.

On his Instagram page, the influencer had earlier defended his decision not to be criticized when he posted a video of himself getting the tattoo.

“I’m not hurting anyone, I’m not doing anything illegal,” he insisted.

However, Jambs did a U-turn, as he wished he could go back in time on his decisions.

“I regret getting the tattoo because instead of bringing me positive things, it has brought me many negative things, both on a personal and family level,” he lamented.

The PUNCH had reported that fans of the Argentine national team lined up in Buenos Aires to get tattoos of the victorious captain Messi and the World Cup trophy.

“For the next two weeks I have (appointments) exclusively related to the World Cup,” tattoo artist Esteban Vucinovich told AFP in the capital.

“Some had already made an appointment for snake or skull tattoos, but they are changing it for Messi or the Cup. I have two or three appointments a day,” he said.

The most requested skin art is that of the trophy, Vucinovich said, followed by Messi and then goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who was instrumental in La Albiceleste’s victory in the final against France.
