Nigerian model and businesswoman, Fancy Acholonu, is ending the year with another chance to fall in love.
Acholonu, who got engaged to Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo in May 2021, suddenly called off their already-scheduled wedding in August of the same year.
“Hi guys, I am writing to officially inform you all that I have ended my relationship and canceled the wedding with Alex Ekubo,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
Stating that she was aware that the news would surprise many, the model maintained that she had made the best decision for her “because it is important that everyone find their happiness and live in their truth.”
Over a year later, Fancy did a U-turn and publicly apologized to her former lover, asking him to take her back.
In a post shared via Instagram on Thursday, Acholonu apologized for the pain she caused her ex-fiancé and his family by publicly announcing their breakup.
In addition, he stated that his heart still belonged to the actor, since losing it “felt like a pain”.
Sharing a photo from more optimistic times, he wrote: “As our t-shirt says nothing makes sense when we are apart @alexxekubo you still have my heart. I miss you, I love you, and I am so sorry for all the pain and pain that you and your family went through with our breakup.
“My actions in the way I handled things were out of character. I should have controlled my emotions and not been so reactive. I said too much, I did too much. Please forgive me, I have learned my lesson on how to better handle situations.
“I have not expressed myself correctly. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable and say that you, your family, and your friends still mean the world to me. Losing you has felt like pain. Love heals #FalexxForever.”
