Tennis player Naomi Osaka has announced that she is pregnant with her first child.

Last week, the 25-year-old withdrew from the first Grand Slam of the year without giving any official reason, but on Wednesday she took to social media to post a photo of a baby scan.

He also revealed that he plans to return to court at next year’s Australian Open.

She captioned the photo quoted by Sky Sports: “Can’t wait to get back on the pitch but here’s a little update on life for 2023.”

She said: “The last few years have been interesting to say the least, but I think it’s the most challenging times in life that can be the most fun. These few months away from the sport have really given me a new love and appreciation for the game to which I have dedicated my life.

“I realize that life is very short and I don’t take any moment for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know I have a lot to look forward to in the future, one thing I look forward to is my son watching my games and saying to someone, ‘that’s my mom’

“2023 will be a year full of lessons for me and I hope to see you at the beginning of the next one because I will be in Aus 2024. I love you all infinitely.

“I don’t think there’s a perfectly right path to take in life, but I always felt that if you go forward with good intentions, you’ll eventually find your way.”
