Paul Onuachu believe in the victory of Genk against Club Bruges it is key to his ambition for the title.
Onuachu scored once as Genk thrashed their rivals 3-1 at Cegaka Arena on Sunday.
“I said in advance that it was a crucial match. This game gives us a mental boost to start the busy period now,” she sounds.
Club Brugge took the lead after 16 minutes, but Genk struck back through Bryan Heymen and Paul Onuachu minutes later, before Noah Lang missed the golden opportunity to restore parity for the visitors.
Later, Genk scored his third of the game in the second half, and Onuachu believes that his team was lucky to win the game.
“We were lucky there”, the Genk players realize very well.
“But we dominated in the second half. His chances were more fast breaks instead of played chances and you’ll always get them.”
Genk is now the favorite to win the title, with reigning champions Club Bruges 15 points behind the leaders.
