Gidado heads the campaign media team for Kwara’s senatorial candidate

An award-winning businessman and media editor, Gidado Shuaib, will head the All Progressives Congress, APC, Media and Communications Directorate, the Kwara Central senatorial candidate, Saliu Mustapha.

To this end, Gidado will coordinate the media activities of the Saliu Mustapha Campaign Organization (SAMCO) in a bid to secure Kwara’s central senatorial seat for the APC in the 10th Assembly.

Mustapha’s campaign organization, in a statement, announced the appointment during the inauguration of SAMCO council members in Ilorin on Saturday.

According to the release, Gidado, a vibrant and energetic young professional, will bring his multimedia experience, spanning both local and international media organizations.

“Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s campaign is a comprehensive project with youth at its core. Gidado’s appointment further reaffirms Turaki’s belief in the potential of the abundant youth population and his role in government,” the statement read.

The 26-year-old is the editor of Youths Digest and News Digest, a reputable online publication based in Abuja.

A graduate of Abuja’s Baze University and the University of Westminster, London, Shuaib was one of the delegates at the United Nations Youth Assembly held in New York in 2015.

In addition, he received the SME100Nigeria Under 25 Young Entrepreneurs Award and the Nigerian Universities Merit Awards.

Gidado’s career path has taken him to work at various media organizations including Premium Times, Daily Trust Newspaper and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Among other positions held, he chairs the Nigerian Technology Market Advisory Council.

Notably, Gidado is the grandson of the revered Islamic scholar, the late Imam Abdulhameed Shuaib Agaka, and the eldest son of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential editor Yushau Shuaib.
