The Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti-Ahmed Presidential Global Network (PPGN) has called on Nigerians to collect their permanent voter cards (PVCs) before the deadline announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The call was made in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Asa Blessing Chijekwu, PPGN’s Press Officer, and signed by the group’s Global Coordinator, Dr. Michael Chukwujekwu.

The group urged Nigerians not to miss the golden opportunity provided by INEC to collect their PVCs in order to elect credible leaders of their choosing to lead the country out of its security and economic challenges.

The INEC had announced from January 5 to 15 for the collection of PVC at the district level at the national level.

Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for February 25, while Governor and State Assembly elections will take place on March 11.

“Now is the time for Nigerians to fully participate in the democratic process, first and foremost by collecting PVCs and eventually casting their votes for committed leaders who are ready to listen to their wishes and aspirations.

“INEC has given a deadline for these PVCs to be collected by the owners and we must not fail our country this time.

“Please, let’s all pick up our PVCs and prepare to enthrone good leadership and restore our country’s lost glory,” the statement read.

Akin Osuntokun

On the appointment of Mr. Akin Osuntokun as the new Director General of the Labor Party Presidential Campaign Council, the group said that Osuntokun had demonstrated ability in all the tasks assigned to him in the past and present.

“He demonstrated ability when he was managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and also a political adviser to former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

“With the synergy, inclusiveness, collaboration, articulation and results-oriented strategies that he developed at all levels from the past to his current position, we hope the future is great for the country with the Labor Party in charge.

“The background you have drawn upon in pursuing our vision for the new Nigeria, including an appreciation of the Support Group’s values, especially in this mission, in which you believed so highly, will not be wasted.

“Management, directorates, national, state, LGA, district coordination units and all their allied support groups, as well as the ObiDatti movement around the world, are happy with their well-deserved recognition,” he said.

The group said they look forward to working with him and prayed that Almighty God would grant him success in the task ahead.

“A new Nigeria is needed now, because if ObiDatti wins, Nigeria wins,” Chukwujekwu said in the statement. (NAN) (
