Hakimi, 24, joined directors, athletes, social media influencers and international artists to celebrate the Joy Awards.

The award honoring celebrities for their achievements was held at the Bakr al-Sheddi Theater in Boulevard Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia.

Celebrities such as Georgina Rodríguez, a partner of new AlNassr recruit Cristiano Ronaldo, attended the award ceremony.

As celebrities showed off their style on the lavender carpet, Hakimi teamed up with Nigerian singer, musician and rapper Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema.

This was not the first encounter between Rema and Hakimi. Last year, the Moroccan soccer star gifted the Nigerian musician his shirt when he visited a Ligue 1 match for Paris Saint-Germain.

Rema performed her hit single Calm Down before the crowd of celebrities at the award ceremony.

At the award ceremony, Hakimi was voted Best Male Athlete following his achievement in helping PSG win the Ligue 1 title.

The award also recognizes Hakimi’s role in being part of the Moroccan team that made history by reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Hakimi took the stage to receive the award with his mother. She thanked her club and country mates for their role in her achievements.

He said, “Salam Alikum, I want to say that I am very happy to be here. This is a special country.

"I am very happy to be with my mom. It is a support for me. I also want to thank my team Paris Saint Germain and my country, Morocco. Thanks for the support… I feel very proud to be here.”

Hakimi then took to social media to post a photo with the award and a message that read, “An honor to receive this award and share it with my people ❤️ #JoyAwards.”

The defender is now expected to return to France when PSG take on Reims in their next league game scheduled for Sunday, January 29, 2023.
