Nigerian footballer and Napoli star player Victor Osimhen has said that he attributes his success as a footballer to a lot of pain, tears and failure that have made him the star player he is today.
Osimhen, in a conversation with Nigerian sports journalist and content creator Oma Akatugba, posted on Instagram on Monday, said she had exceeded the personal expectations she had set for her career and that she owes her success to God.

“There were many obstacles along the way to get to where I am today. Lots of hate, backstabbing and also love. I attribute my success to a lot of love, pain, tears, failure. Many did not believe that he could make it, they said that he would not survive two years. They laughed at me when two clubs turned me down in Belgium, but I never let that get to me.
“Either you take it as they have said or you show them that they are absolutely wrong. God so good that I have proven them wrong. I’m playing for one of the best clubs in Europe, I’ve been nominated for youth player of the year, I’ve won so many personal awards for myself, which I feel is a huge milestone for me, considering the fact that I went through a lot of trouble that They threatened my life, I came back and I’m doing pretty well.
“That’s why every time I wake up I’m so grateful to God and I thank him for everything, because if I hadn’t gotten to where I am today, I would have given a lot of people a reason to talk bad about me in my career. I am winning against the odds and I have won against people who wrote me off and wished me the worst on my journey.
“I’m so thankful to God for where I am today and I know he’s not done with me.”
