A member of the House of Representatives and Accord Party Senate candidate for Oyo North in the 2023 election, Shina Peller, vowed to free the people of the constituency from what she described as too much oppression they are currently facing by part of a few people.

He said: “We are on a rescue mission, we want to free our people from the continued domination of a few people. Oke Ogun has ten local governments, while Ogbomoso with three local governments has been dominating us for a long time.”

Peller made this known in his hometown Iseyin as he handed out cash gifts to the elderly and widows within the constituency to help them get the necessities of life during this festive period.

He continued: “I am leading a liberation mission for the people of Oke Ogun who believe that it is our turn to have a Red Chamber representative in the National Assembly. We cannot continue using ten local governments to serve three, therefore it is up to Oke Ogun to be well represented in the Senate from 2023”.

Speaking about cash relief for the elderly and widows, the lawmaker said: “I’m a big believer in giving back to people, a big believer in empowering my people, especially at a time when they needed it. The happier you make your people, the closer you are to them.”

Peller, who represents Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola and the Iwajowa federal constituency, said he decided to empower the majority of his supporters, not just in the four local governments he currently represents, but in the 13 local governments that make up the senatorial district. from Oyo North, where he will be competing under Accord Party this year.

“This cash empowerment is for the elderly and widows, and it is not the first time, we did it during the Covid-19 pandemic. I know that some politicians will prefer to keep their money to buy votes, but I would prefer to do it now. It’s better to do it now when they needed it, to alleviate poverty and support them.”
