All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said he will not fight his running mate, Kashim Shettima, as former president Olusegun Obasanjo did with his vice president, Atiku Abubakar, between 1999 and 2007.

Tinubu stated this on Friday in his speech during a town hall meeting with youth in Abuja organized by Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello under the theme “Nigeria 2023: Setting the Youth Agenda.

“Shettima and I will not abuse each other in the Wuse market like Obasanjo and Atiku. I don’t want to say this, but I can’t help it,” Tinubu said.

The former Lagos State Governor was joined at the event held at the Chida Hotel by Bello (Kogi), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano) former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare and many heads of the APC.

He vowed to serve Nigeria “untiringly, faithfully and honestly” if he is elected president in the February 25 election.

He vowed to end the relentless closure of the nation’s universities due to strikes by the Universities Academic Staff Union, ASUU, saying: “four years will be four years.

“There will be student loans and when you start working and have the ability to pay, you will pay. We will build additional refineries and social welfare will continue in a more refined way,” she told the crowd.

Tinubu said he purposely surrounded himself with bright young people because he believed in a democracy of ideas, teamwork and collaboration.

According to him, it would create a thriving digital economy where those interested in pursuing integrity careers in ICT could do so.

He said: “If I am given the opportunity to be your president, I will serve tirelessly, faithfully and honestly. I will embed the energy, innovation and determination of youth throughout my cabinet.

“I will create a prosperous and conducive environment for you to complete your education, start a job or start a business, and earn a decent wage. With hard work and focus, you will be able to buy a car or motorcycle again, buy a house, settle down, start a family and create a better life. I have plans to realize all these dreams and I can confirm that with your support these dreams will come true.

“The time is now. I offer myself, my skills, my experience, my passion and my journey to guide us towards a better future. In this future hope is renewed, security is restored, opportunities are available and it can be achieved.” a good success. My running mate Senator Kashim Shettima and I are here today with a message of renewed hope. It is anchored in the promise of a secure and prosperous Nigeria.

“To stand today in the Federal Capital Territory, the seat of government, and to be greeted by so many young people is truly a dream come true. The work we’re doing, the future proofing we’re doing, is for you!

“I believe in bringing together the most capable hands, the brightest minds, and the most passionate people. This was the strategy I used in Lagos, ignoring gender, age and states of origin, our team built a Lagos that continues to grow on the same trajectory. It is financially sound, globally competitive and world renowned. This is our plan for all of Nigeria should we be elected to office in February. So choose us and let’s get started.

“As we seek to become a nation of creators and not just consumers, your role is key:

“I pledge that during my administration we will generate, transmit and distribute enough affordable electricity to ensure that they have the power they need to light their lives and power their dreams. We will build on the foundation laid by President Buhari’s Presidential Energy Initiative, among other major interventions working to make the energy sector viable and sustainable.

“I promise properly trained, properly compensated and properly managed security agencies and personnel. This will ensure that all those who have good intentions for society are protected and are not harassed, supported and improperly detained and searched. The nation will be safe, it will be safe, and trust will be restored between security agencies and good young citizens.

“I promise a thriving digital economy where those interested in pursuing integrity careers in ICT will be able to do so. We will also ensure that Nigeria can take greater advantage of relatively recent innovations such as blockchain technology. We will reform government policy to encourage the prudent use of blockchain technology in finance and banking, identity management, revenue collection, and the use of crypto assets.

“We will implement policies that empower and build capacity among Nigeria’s large and young population to better take advantage of the opportunities presented by ICTs. I promise to invest in the infrastructure necessary to fuel an already successful entertainment industry. Working with private sector partners, we will close existing gaps to build modern media centers and upgrade existing entertainment venues and stadiums across the country to world-class standards.

“My administration will reform the education sector by focusing on quality, access, financing, management, effectiveness and competitiveness. I promise, we will provide a good and quality education in tune with the demands of the 21st century. Our youth are some of the brightest people in the world, so we will equip you and make sure you are globally competitive and never fall behind.

“We promise to give you a fairer deal. We promise to deliver results. We promise that the hope we are renewing will never fade away.

“You will become the main catalysts driving the economic revival. You will be empowered for individual and collective success. There will be opportunities in all areas, and they will be for you. Let’s go together!”
