Mister. Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula, a former member of the House of Representatives and a close political associate of President Muhammadu Buhari when both were part of the defunct All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP), praised the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, for his recent endorsement of the Mr. Peter Obi, Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate.

He chided the former leader’s critics because he said no one was more appropriate to speak for ordinary Nigerians than the aging front-line statesman.

The onetime deputy minority leader in the House of Representatives, who was among those who worked for Buhari’s emergence as president, is pushing hard for Peter Obi, claiming that he is the only one among the leading presidential candidates with the potential to reverse rot. he claims that he is the legacy of the Buhari/APC administration.

Three presidential candidates are on the front lines to succeed Buhari. Who do you think he will do a better job and why?

It’s a no-brainer. I can say without reservation that Peter Obi is much better for the redirection of our country than Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar.

Your background, vision, integrity, energy and passion to succeed speak to your being the undisputed right person for the job. The selfless and thoughtful achievements of Peter Obi in Anambra State compared to that of Tinubu in Lagos State clearly show that Peter Obi has unimpeachable integrity, the right physiological, mental, ideological and relentless drive required to redirect Nigeria from its current extremely precarious state. .

Voting for anyone other than Peter Obi will simply make one complicit in perpetuating the undeserved suffering of Nigerians with even more catastrophic consequences for our individual and collective existence as a nation.

President Obasanjo recently endorsed Mr. Peter Obi. Do you think the support is adequate?

Backup is not only appropriate, but the most sensible choice to make in this situation. Obasanjo has what it takes to selflessly and consciously make that decision for the general good of Nigeria.

Many have raised objections to Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi. Do you agree with those who say he lacks the moral fiber to present such an endorsement given his alleged role in the Third Term rampage?

Without mincing words, no Nigerian living or dead has made more well-known sacrifices to promote and defend the collective unity of our Nigerian state than Obasanjo. I also don’t know of any who are better suited to talk about the necessary values of who should be hired by Nigerians to get us out of the treacherous hole into which the APC and Buhari administrations, led by Tinubu, have plunged Nigerians and our country.

There is no doubt that many forward-thinking Nigerians saw great leadership qualities in Obasanjo, and that may have spurred their desire to give him a third term for the short-term gain of our country.

However, harboring the thought and supporters of the Third Term was his only slight blemish and not a damage or erosion of his unsurpassed achievements and proven love for the prosperity and unity of our great country.

This is a man who risked his life to fight in the civil war. He offered to stand down so someone else could succeed Murtala in his place, but was urged by others to succeed him.

He stands out as the first of only two Nigerian military heads of state to deliver a truly democratic government. He then stayed completely out of politics until after the dubious annulment of MKO Abiola’s well-deserved victory.

Unlike many others, he stayed in Nigeria to denounce the evils of the Abacha government that cost him his freedom and almost his life. He served Nigeria for eight mostly peaceful and prosperous years despite the PDP’s shortcomings. Lest anyone forget, Obasanjo did not form PDP or bring together the characters that led PDP. However, the success achieved under such an assembly of ideologically incompatible people is highly laudable. Most of Obasanjo’s attackers only do it to defend their paymasters and their sources of bread and butter.

Apart from God, if only one person were to be chosen to impartially qualify a Nigerian to rule Nigeria, it should be none other than Obasanjo.

You were one of the main opponents of the third term push. Do you regret your position at that time?

I do not regret my decisions to vehemently oppose the third term. Consciously, before God, I took an oath demanding that I uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the fundamental objectives and guiding principles of state policy contained therein. I did what I swore to do, and my conscience is clear and without remorse. If Obasanjo’s third term wish complied with constitutional provisions, subsequent events to date, especially under my APC party, are definitely cause for regret.

Critics say Obi has no structure to win a presidential election. Do you share that opinion?

That’s silly. The collective card carried by members of all political parties in Nigeria as a proportion of the voting population is very small. The structure they allude to is the organized criminal oppression of our society through vote buying, violent harassment of voters, and systemic manipulation of results. They have promoted poverty as a tool to perpetuate their fraud for generations, but now their cup is full. In private discussions, they are aware of Nigerians’ determination to use Peter Obi to take back our country from years of reckless hostage by PDP and APC leaders who have appropriated Nigeria’s collective wealth with impunity for themselves, their families, cronies and cohorts. .

In the words of King Sunny Okosun, for Nigerians it is now or never…”. The dubious political elites are nervous and, in fact, very scared that this is an impossible mission for them. The common man in Nigeria will vote for Peter Obi no matter who returns some of the stolen money. The commitment of Nigerians to save Nigeria has now made the Obidient movement the best structure in all parts of Nigeria.

What are your projections for the survey? Do you see your home state of Edo becoming Obedient?

Edo State is the most compliant state in Nigeria. I have not the slightest doubt that Peter Obi will be elected the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to succeed Muhammadu Buhari, to the glory of God.

You were an early supporter of Muhammadu Buhari since your days together in the ANPP as Deputy Minority Leader in the House of Representatives. Are you satisfied with his performance as president?

As a one-time ardent supporter of President Buhari and a staunch supporter of true democratic values for our country, I am extremely disappointed with APC’s two terms and administrations of President Buhari. The APC and President Buhari have been monumental failures in eight years, worse than the PDP’s 16 years.

Like most Nigerians who supported Buhari and APC to be elected president, we expected to see a time of broad discipline and anti-corruption in all facets of our society, not the most corrupt, insecure, extremely polarized and harshest time in the Nigerian story that turned out to be.
