The Independent National Election Commission has once again warned Nigerians against an alleged portal for ad hoc recruitment of staff for the 2023 general election.
INEC said this in a brief message from the Chief Press Secretary to INEC President Rotimi Oyekanmi on Tuesday in Abuja.
Oyekanmi said the portal was fake as the commission was no longer recruiting for the elections as its official recruitment website had been shut down.
He said: “The website/blog below advertises ad hoc staff positions for the 2023 General Election.
“However, the commission is no longer recruiting ad hoc staff for the 2023 general elections. The INEC ad hoc staff recruitment portal was officially closed on December 14, 2022.
“Therefore, the site, with the URL: http://www.yournewclaims.com/Inec-Recriutment/ is fake. He intends to defraud unsuspecting members of the public. Nigerians should ignore it.”
The Nigerian News Agency reports that INEC on 5 October 2022 raised the alarm about a similar fake ad hoc recruitment link inecnigeria.govservice.site circulating online.
NAN reports that on September 7, 2022, the commission announced that its official recruitment portal for the 2023 general election (www.pres.inecnigeria.org) would open to the public on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 8 a.m. and It would be closed on Wednesday, December 14 at 8:00 p.m.
