Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru has been diagnosed with an ankle ligament injury and will be sidelined for at least four weeks.

Dele-Bashiru did the damage in the Hornets’ 4-0 defeat at Swansea City and is a setback for the midfielder who recently returned from a six-month spell sidelined with a knee injury.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s league clash with Norwich City at Carrow Road, manager Slaven Bilic was not happy with the situation.

“Tom Dele-Bashiru sustained an ankle ligament injury in a challenge at Swansea and is set for a spell of at least a couple of months on the sidelines.

“He adds to an extraordinary list of midfielders currently in the treatment room; contact injuries during matches account for more than half of them.”

Dele-Bashiru has made six league appearances for the London club this season, including three after returning from previous injury.
