“We all need to stay in Nigeria to rebuild and restore the lost esteem of the country”

The Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Dr. David Oyedepo, has called on young Nigerians to remain in the country to restore its lost glory.

He started this while speaking to the Nigerian News Agency on Saturday in Ota, Ogun, where he said everyone should stay in Nigeria and fix the country.

He added that the Federal Government must also invest massively in human capital to recover the country’s lost esteem.

The chancellor stressed the need for further investment in human capital development because this was the most viable and stable stock in which any county could invest.

“There is a need for more investment education because this is the foundation of sustainable national development for any nation,” Oyedepo said.

The foreign minister pointed out that the nation had lost its self-esteem due to little investment in human capital through education.

Therefore, he urged the Federal Government to create an enabling environment for young people to thrive by reducing travel outside the country.

Even so, in this regard, he called on parents to redirect their children on trips outside the country, which is not the best since there are many young people stranded in foreign countries who could not return home out of shame.

Finally, he said: “We all need to stay in Nigeria to rebuild and restore the lost esteem of the country.

“Everyone has a role to play in the recovery of their nation.”
