The winners have emerged in the 3rd edition of the Maikaya Development Foundation’s annual grassroots football tournament.

Toto Town’s Kofa FC edged out struggling Sofiyo’s Emani FC with a lone goal in the final played on New Year’s Day at Toto Central Elementary School’s soccer field to be crowned champion.

The grand finale was attended by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, who was ably represented by the state’s health commissioner, pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yaya; The Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Ambassador Lucky Isaac Yargwa, and his counterpart for Information, Culture and Tourism, the Hon. Yakubu Mohamed Lawal.

Prizes were awarded to the winning, runner-up and 3rd-placed team, Ciroma FC.

Ambassador Yargwa, who donated two personalized football pieces with the portrait of Governor Abdullahi Sule to the two finalist teams, was awarded a special medal along with his colleague from Information, Culture and Tourism, the Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Lawal, by the Contest Organizers.
