The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps warned motorists against road violations as construction work resumed on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday.
FRSC Ogun Sector Commander Mr. Ahmed Umar gave the warning while speaking to the Nigerian News Agency on Sunday in Ota, Ogun state.
Umar said the warning was made necessary as the FRSC, police and other sister agencies would be on the ground to arrest motorists driving against traffic.
The sector commander said the FRSC and other sister agencies had been deployed to construction sites to ensure sanity, check driver excesses and control traffic jams.
“We call on motorists to be patient, refrain from driving against traffic and strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
“Our men will be there to arrest anyone committing a road violation or driving against traffic, as they will be prosecuted.
“In addition, motorists must abide by the law and cooperate with the FRSC and other related agencies to ensure the free flow of traffic, reduce the time and suffering of the motoring public in the course of construction work,” it said.
