Colonel Rabiu Garba Yandoto (rtd) has described his kidnapping by bandits as a blessing for Nigeria.

Remember that Yandoto was kidnapped by bandits along the Gusau-Tsafe highway and got his freedom back after paying a ransom of N10 million recently.

Briefing journalists in Gusau, Yandoto said his kidnapping was a blessing for the country after he met some bandit leaders wanted by the military.

He explained that he had a meeting with all those wanted bandits, especially those who are listed by the Chief of the Defense Staff in the forest where he was held captive.

He added that they discussed so many topics that he promised not to reveal for now due to some reasons, and stressed that he was not tortured that well and his two children were kidnapped along with him, but they were treated very well.

The retired army officer said that they (bandits) gave him a chance to speak because they understood his position as a retired soldier, saying that the reason they did not clamp down on him was that they had some messages they wanted him to send. pass on to the proper authorities.

“Some are top secret, some are officials, while others are ordinary messages. If both the federal and Zamfara state governments can implement what the bandit leaders are looking for, it will mark the end of banditry,” he stated.
