Femi Fani-Kayode, Director of New Media for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has been a strong critic of Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In a post seen by legit.ng and shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday, January 31, Fani-Kayode described Emefiele as an enemy of democracy.

Why should Emefiele be caged? FFK, as it is affectionately called, gives a solid reason
The former aviation minister alleged that Emefiele has no plans to launch enough new naira notes any time soon.
He further claimed that the CBN Governor’s actions are to deprive Nigerians of cash and drive them into anger out of frustration.
Fani-Kayode wrote on Facebook:
“The old ticket cancellation policy should be fully canceled until AFTER the election and then done legally.
“He wants to cause a crisis, provoke a popular uprising, derail our democracy and pave the way for an ING.
“He has NO plans to launch enough new naira notes any time soon.
“He wants to starve people out of cash and drive them into a rage of frustration.
“It is not about politics, but about fueling protest and revolution. This is subversion and destabilization.

President Muhammadu Buhari again defended the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to redesign a higher denomination of Naira.
According to Buhari, the policy was targeted at people in possession of illicit funds and not ordinary Nigerians.
The president revealed this in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
