Nigeria has qualified for the 2023 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball Women’s Under-19 World Championship in Croatia and Hungary.

The tournament will take place in Croatia and Hungary from August 1-11, 2023.

The FIVB in a statement signed by its project manager, Yiting Cao, congratulated Nigeria on qualifying for the championship.

The statement advises Nigeria to confirm its participation, complete the attached registration form and return it no later than February 3.

Reacting to the development, Nigerian Volleyball Federation President Musa Nimrod hailed the FIVB’s decision to admit three African nations to the World Championships.

Nimrod said the championship will help develop young players who are in the best shape of their lives.

He said: “Cameroon and Egypt placed first and second respectively at the CAVB Volleyball Women’s U19 African Championship 2022 2022 in Abuja, where they booked their tickets for the World Championship.

“The space granted to Nigeria by the FIVB means we can showcase our talents to the world in Croatia and Hungary. The players may also have the opportunity to be selected by scouts from foreign teams.”
